Pop music artist Paul Maxwel’s recent concert introduced hundreds of followers to his new album, “Love and Pride,” during a May 3 gathering at Casino Torrequebrada, Benalmádena.

Paul Maxwel Cover
Maxwel was supported by a crowd who gradually ended singing the songs and actively participating in the launching of his new album, “Love and Pride.” Two hours was enough to show the audience the consolidation of a globalized project and the result of years of Paul Maxwel’s hard work in la Costa del Sol.

For the “Love and Pride” launching, Paul Maxwel performed with a band of bass and guitar, drums, percussion, piano and keyboards, a wide metal section and a solid chorus. The result: an overwhelming sound in strong dosages that predicted an incredible live performance able to electrify a room full at its capacity.

Over the first half of the concert, Paul Maxwel — dressed in white — warmed the audience up. Starting with deep guitars that slowly met the musical paths stressed by the piano, more allegro themes showed up in cascade and revealed Paul Maxwel’s musical roots (the end of the ‘70s beginning of the ‘80s) added by electric virtuosity and intense percussion.

Over the second half of the concert, Paul Maxwel was dressed in black. The show developed with Paul at the piano in communion with a devoted audience and revealing the artist’s most intimate face (”I’m waiting for your love”). Furthermore, Paul added some great and classic song versions like Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.” He left the most intimate songs — “You changed my Life” and “We all need friends,” a sincere and astonishing song that Paul used to thank his producer Michel Guérillot and his sponsor and friend Povl Lautrup, the Swedish tycoon — for the end.

Once again, Michel Guérillot’s previous words on Paul were confirmed: “Paul Maxwel is a shy and intimate person — as all composers are — who transforms himself into someone close in the short distance. As well, he turns into a melodic stream on stage. He owns an extraordinary strength.”

Love and Pride promises a selection of ballads, dynamic and pure rock songs. The inspiration of “Love and Pride” comes from the challenges the artist had to confront throughout his life and the boost of all the people who believed in him from the beginning of his career and to whom the album is dedicated.

Those who have seen Elvis
alive in concert were very lucky. Seeing Elvis
in his glittering jumpsuits and his jet black hair with the trademark sideburns feels so tremendously beyond the limits of consciousness even in those days. Throw in his famous pelvis dance and hysteria follows. Well, those were the days.

Fortunately, many of his concerts are documented and recorded on video. And avid fans, particularly those who are from the current generation, can still view the legend that was Elvis as if he were still making tour performances around the US.

Elvis’ Concerts By Location

There are many documented Elvis concerts available in music stores and video shops. As a fan, you have to know the venues where Elvis held concerts before you start a video library of his performances. The following categorizes Elvis’ concerts according to major venues in his legendary career.

Early Memphis Performances

The year was 1954 when Elvis started doing concerts. He started out with amateur concerts and benefit performances before he had his first few shows as a professional. Elvis’ first concerts early in his career were held in his hometown of Memphis. But it is said that Elvis’ real start was when he performed at a high school show a year earlier in 1953.

Elvis’ first few performances on stage were held in places like the Bel Air Motel, the Eagle’s Nest, and the Bon Air Club; all in Memphis. His growing fame soon took him to other nearby states like Texas, Arkansas, and of course, Louisiana.

Las Vegas Shows

After being busy with other interests like film and recording, Elvis came back to Las Vegas to do a series of annual concerts from 1969 to 1976. His concerts in Las Vegas were always sold out no matter if his performance was fantastic or characterless, which happened occasionally. Elvis’ regular performances in Las Vegas were usually held during summer and after the Christmas season.

Lake Tahoe Concerts

Elvis performed in Lake Tahoe intermittently from 1971 to 1976. These live performances were rarely documented and are considered to be rare, very few pictures and recordings from there have been released.

Tour Concerts

Elvis started a series of concert tours beginning in 1970. Beginning from Texas, his concert tours took him to Florida, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and other popular cities in the US. The most famous of these concert tours was Aloha held in Hawaii. His last performance before his death was in Indiana.

Concerts Always Drive People in a Frenzy!

Before coming to your next concert event, before you slam your body with other bodies and before you have a nasty concert experience, here are some of the tips for you. It is important before going to a concert to fuel up and pack within before you rock without. Before rocking, you have to eat well. You have to have some energy for your mosh pit activities. You also have to hydrate yourself because we know that you’ll be sweating and you woudn’t want to faint. It is also important to hydrate especially if you will be taking in some alcohol, you need to get down with water.

In starting a fundraiser concert, finances are of course important. Above all, the point is raising funds, not losing them or just giving a free show. So we have to consider a bunch of do’s in setting up out own concert. First is, start small by having a small concert. The artist fee should be as low as possible because you will be spending also on the other logistics. You should also check if the fee for the artists is required before the day of the concert or after the concert. This will allow you some room to make adjustments on the accounting and ticket sales.

Now, we will deal with other financial concerns. You must generate an ad revenue which is equal or approximately equal to the projected ticket sales. You must also generate an online count of tickets sold and ad generated. This way you would know if you are doing well or not. It is also a great idea to put up donations boxes. You must strategically place them in entrances, food stands, along the hall and other entry points. By doing this, additional funds and also the audience will be reminded of the cause of this concert.

One of which is the artists fee. The reason why we shouldn’t have expensive artists is because we are trying to avoid lots of internal discussions and detailed planning on how to make enough profits. Keeping it low would enable us to focus on why we are raising fund. We wouldn’t want a concert that has profits way less than the expenses. We won’t go through the whole process of organizing a concert if this is so.

Maybe at one point in our lives we have dreamt of organizing our own concert. Usually the idea of having your own concert would be for a cause or a fundraiser concert. Don’t let it remain a dream because you can achieve it only if you really want to achieve it. Don’t let that dream die and I hope that this blog would help. In the next entries, we will present some tips and advices on starting your own fundraiser concert. Everything has to start somewhere and a fundraiser concert has some certain guidelines we should follow as framework.

Concerts are usually jam-packed and when you get nearer the concert stage it gets wilder. If you don’t want you toes to be murdered, don’t wear footwear that would expose your delicate toes. I went to a concert once and I wore sandals, and lesson learned, my toes were murdered. Also, we should wear something that wouldn’t hurt us if it gets dirty or damaged due to the stomping in concerts. Or, if you still decide to wear your white sneakers, you can put it on display for proof that you went to that concert. Better, just show them concert battle scars (murdered toes).

The Police Reunion Concert Tour

Andy Summers, Sting (Gordon Sumner) and Stewart Copeland are three musicians that got together to form the band The Police. They were very popular in the early 1980s, but they broke up by the mid-1980s and did not have any reunion until 2007. The Police then planned a reunion to go through 2007 and 2008. The reunion was planned as a 30 year anniversary celebration of their hit single “Roxanne.”

The Police Reunion started on May 28, 2007 and will end on August 5, 2008. Some people think that the reunion tour is in two parts because of the different legs. However, it is just one reunion tour with numerous different legs.

The first leg was in North America and was held from May 28, 2007 to August 5, 2007. The second leg was in Europe and was held from August 29, 2007 to October 20, 2007. The third leg was in North America and was held from October 31, 2007 to November 28, 2007. The fourth leg was held in Latin America from December 1, 2007 to December 11, 2007. The fifth leg was held in Australia and New Zealand from January 17, 2008 to February 2, 2008. The sixth leg was in Asia and was held from February 4, 2008 to February 14, 2008. The sixth leg was in Hawaii on February 16 and 17, 2008.

Three more legs of the tour were scheduled. The first is in North America from May 1, 2008 to May 28, 2008. The second is in Europe from June 3, 2008 to July 5, 2008. The third leg is is in North America from July 11, 2008 to August 5, 2008.

The Police do not have to worry about costs for this reunion tour. It is extremely popular. Some of the concert dates were sold out in just minutes. All tickets for the British tour sold out within the first 30 minutes they were on sale. Worldwide, ticket revenues reached $168 million and are expected to reach a total of $340 million.

Most of the critics have given the reunion tour shows glowing reviews. However, after the first show, Stewart himself wrote that the performance was “lame.” He also wrote that one of Sting’s song endings was a leap of a “petulant pansy” and that Summer was “in Idaho” when he was half a bar off with Copeland’s drumming.

Some media picked this up as a fight or argument, but it was really just picking at his other band members. Both Sting and Copeland took it as light-hearted teasing. Stewart has said that after the set, he and his band mates fell laughing into each other’s arms.

Unfortunately, that was not the only negative review of the reunion tour. The newspapers in the Twin Cities area gave a negative review to the reunion tour show. They decided that it was “sloppy.” However, this does not seem to match what fans think of the show. They love Stewart’s drumming, Summer’s guitar, and Sting’s bass and signing. They say that the the small idiosyncrasies prove that the band members are real people. It is reported that they handle forgotten lyrics and getting off time very professionally.

While the tour may end with a hopeful message of “We’ll see you again!” from Sting, he has said that The Police will not get back together after the reunion tour. His exact quote is, “There will be no new album, no big new tour, once we’re done with our reunion tour, that’s it for The Police.”

VH1 Rock Honors tickets are now available to be bought or sold on Stubhub.com.

For the third year in a row, the VH1 music channel will be hosting a program dedicated to honoring the musical pioneers that shaped the sound of rock ‘n’ roll. This amazing concert typically picks several popular rock bands to honor, then brings aboard a number of modern rock bands to play covers of their hit songs. In the past, honorees have included Queen, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, KISS, ZZ Top, Heart, Genesis and Ozzy Osbourne.

But for their third year, VH1 will be breaking new ground by picking only one band to honor: Legendary mods The Who. The band was influential in shaping the sound of rock ‘n’ roll in the ‘60s, and often were considered rivals of sorts to The Rolling Stones, who were the quintessential rocker band. Though both were different styles of music, there’s no doubt each leaves a long shadow that touches every rock band today, from a small garage outfit to major hit-makers playing out arena-sized venues.

Performances in the past included popular bands that have hits on the radio and greatly respect the honorees. This year, there’s a special treat: Live performances by frontman Pete Townsend and Roger Daltry that will wow every audience member lucky enough to get VH1 Rock Honors tickets before they sell out.

And you can be sure of one thing: Tickets will be scarce come July 12, when the VH1 Rock Honors event commences at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles. Fans of all music, including rock, will want to scrounge up tickets long before that date, but fans of The Who should especially take this opportunity to see their legendary idols up on stage.

VH1 has been a leader of the pack as far as presenting entertaining programs on music—and especially on the rock genre—in past years. The bands you grew up listening to and first developed your ear for new music have always been recognized on the channel’s exciting programming, and this is yet another presentation you’re not going to want to miss out on. Gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender advocates The Human Rights
Campaign have taken a bold step in supporting the Democratic vote in the 2008 presidential election. The group has organized an awareness-raising concert featuring Melissa Etheridge that will be held in Denver during this year’s Democratic National Convention.

Rock to Win at the DNC features Etheridge at her best, performing her classic folk-rock songs at the event. Also featured will be a special screening of the new Gus Van Sant-directed film “Milk,” about the assassination of former San Francisco city supervisor Harvey Milk, who worked tirelessly to promote GLBT rights. According to IMDB.com, Sean Penn has been cast in the title role, with Josh Brolin and Diego Luna in supporting roles.

This event is aimed at making a change in the current political climate and help gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender people live as freely and openly as anyone else.

“All of America, and the world at large, has so much at stake in this year’s election,” said Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese in a press release for the event. “Four years ago, GLBT issues were used by the right wing in an attempt to distract and manipulate voters, and we vowed to fight those forces and continue to educate the electorate on the road to equality. We have largely succeeded in reshaping the political landscape. ‘Rock to Win’ is a celebration of our growth and progress, and a grand kickoff to hard work ahead in the general to elect a new president of our nation.”

For anyone who has ever searched for event tickets, watched ticket prices skyrocket or just didn’t hear about an event until it was too late, help has arrived. Ticketwood.com (http://www.Ticketwood.com), a new comparison search engine, is now available to ensure that visitors never miss another concert, sporting event, play, movie and more.

Instead of poring over local independent newspapers or standing in line at the box office or ticket counter for the latest must-see event, fun seekers can use the Ticketwood search engine technology quickly and easily to find lists of events and ticket providers, compare prices and make a purchase.

We wanted to provide an alternative to ticket outlets such as Ticketmaster that monopolize the ticketing industry and limit consumer options. Experience has shown that when a top-tier outlet runs out of tickets, many consumers mistakenly believe that an event is sold out, said Ali Ben, a member of the team of developers who created the Ticketwod.com. “Now we’re putting all of consumers’ options together in one event-ticketing directory.”

To this end, Ticketwood has secured strategic partnerships with a host of major ticket merchants and event-ticketing Web sites. “Our directory is on track to be one of the most comprehensive and reliable online ticket channels available,” stated Ben.

The Ticketwood team is constantly adding providers and eventually the site will have more ticket vendors integrated into its platform. “We plan to add services to complement our present search abilities on a continuing basis,” said Ben. “We are determined to create the most user-friendly ticket-shopping and event community on the Web.
